I hesitate to write about climbing in the Santa Fe, New Mexico area. Basically, because it’s sooooo shit.
Scott Hunt: “We were told to pass on that the climbing in NM sucks and the locals are rude.”
John Bilberry: “Don’t bother with this place, its pretty much a giant choss pile”
And mine: “I need to get back here soon….I mean, it smells like poo, and there’s a plague of Kokopellis!”
Yeah, I need to get back there. But for you sir/madam, please: do not, by any means, go there. There’s a big sucking sound coming from the rocks in New Mexico – just don’t bother.

In conclusion, this is a shithole poor excuse for a climbing area. Go elsewhere, like Smith Rock, or Vedauwoo, or JTree…any place that is well-known and crowded with people in the know. Just remember: It’s crowded for a reason – because it’s soooo good!
